A comment is a explanatory statement that you can attach to a variable. A comment should not include tildes ~ or bars |, but can include other symbols. The lines in the comment automatically wrap, so you won't have to press the Enter key, but you can break them up by holding down the Ctrl key and pressing the Enter key.
For Lookups a special delimiter \! is used to separate the comments into a title, y axis label and x axis label. This punctuation is used and maintained by the Graph Lookup Editor and you do not need to enter it yourself.
In addition to the Equation Editor, comments are used in the Document tool and appear in the Text Editor. Adding comments can help others understand your model. For example, you might want to include information about the reason for the chosen formulation, or other pertinent information.
There is no limit to the length of a comment. The standard text entry area will support four lines of text.
The "Expand" checkbox can be used to make the comment box much larger. When this is done, the "Show Inputs" button can used to restore the choices for Variables, Subscripts, Functions, and Keypad Buttons.
