The Custom Graph and Table Editors will allow you to create and modify Custom Graphs. In order to work with Reports and Bar Graphs, however, you will need to work directly with Vensim Graph Definition (.vgd) files. After you have created a .vgd file you can still use the Custom Graph Editor to modify and add Custom Graphs. If you try to edit a Custom Graph that uses functions not supported in the Custom Graph editor you will receive a message about incompatibilities; if you proceed some of the previous definition will be lost. You cannot modify Custom Reports, Tables or Bar Graphs.
If you open a .vgd file in the Text Editor the File menu item will contain the command Load Custom. This will load the graph definition file and bring the Control Panel forward with the Graph Tab active. This a quick way to develop and test custom tool output.
