There is an ongoing, albeit slow, effort to try to define an interchange format that will allow models to be easily moved among the different software products used for system dynamics modeling. All of the software products clearly have their own nuances and extensions and this is intended to be a format that captures the bulk of basic system dynamics model structure.
The interchange format will make it easier to move models from one software product to another.
