Vensim supports both the WM_DDE_REQUEST and WM_DDE_ADVISE messages. The latter, which creates a hot link, is not always that easy to set up. If a hot link is established, Vensim will update it at each SAVEPER during a simulation, and also when the list of runs is changed or changes are made to the time axis.
