This gives you unlimited distribution rights and much more control over the form in which the material is packaged. The application distribution engines are the same as the regular engines except that they only work on encrypted binary files. Each distribution license is given a unique key so that other people's applications will not work with your engine. Because the files are encrypted, it also means that other Vensim users will not be able to open them. This gives you some security over your files, although it must be emphasized that the encryption is not very strong and cannot be expected to protect sensitive information.
In order to prepare files for use under the distribution license, it is necessary to store them in binary format and encrypt them. Instructions for doing this along with the necessary software come with the kit. Command scripts are very useful for performing this encryption process.
