Vensim is designed to make it as easy as possible for you to build models and to find and fix the errors that occur in the models you build. Some of these errors can be very subtle and can be uncovered only through simulation analysis or the application of Reality Checks. There are a number of errors, however, that can be detected by the direct inspection of a model and Vensim will do this inspection for you automatically.
This chapter:
• | Shows how to set and get information about a model including time bounds and units synonyms. |
• | Outlines Vensim's model checking sequence. |
• | Provides guidance for correcting errors that Vensim detects. |
• | Describes alternative techniques for dealing with simultaneous equations. |
• | Outlines units checking. |
• | Discusses strategies for correcting units errors. |
• | Demonstrates how to reformat and clean a model. |
