Control Panel

Pops the Control Panel forward.  The Control Panel is used to manage variable selection and other activities.

Subscript Control†

Pops the Subscript Control forward.

Molecules

Brings forward the Molecules add-in to Vensim.  Molecules are building blocks for models that are available as a, currently free, add-in to Vensim and other system dynamics software.

Pop Output Forward

This command will bring all tool output windows to the foreground.  If a tool output window is currently active, it will cycle to another output window.  

Output Window List

Brings up a list of all output windows.  They are listed by their titles which may not be unique.  Select the one you want and click OK to see it.

Close All Output

Closes all the tool output windows.  Windows that have been locked will not be closed.

Error History

This will open a log of errors.  When Vensim is started it creates and keeps a running log of errors and messages in the file vensim.err which is normally kept in the Vensim directory.  The Error History makes these errors go to the screen as well.  When you open it the errors in the log file will be displayed and new errors and messages appear.  The error log can be very helpful when you are having trouble opening a model or dataset file.

Selection History

The selection history is a window that keeps a record of which variables have been selected into the workbench.  When it is opened it will be empty.  As you select variables into the workbench they are also added to this list.  The list can be helpful when you want to keep track of what you have looked at.  Closing and reopening it will empty it.

Pop Build Forward

Will pop the Text Editor and Sketch Editor windows open.  If a build window is active the next build window will be shown.

Keep Build Behind

If not checked, will keep build windows behind all other types of windows.  This can be useful if you prefer to manage your tool output windows by keeping a small number open.  This will prevent them from getting pushed out of sight behind the build windows.  When this menu item is checked it will allow build windows to come to the foreground.

Close All Build

This will close all build windows.  All models open in the Sketch Editor, and all Models and other Files open in the Text Editor will be closed.  If the files are changed you will be asked if you want to save them.

Model: Random.mdl

Will move to the build window named.  There may be a number of such windows.  If too many build windows are open there will be a More... menu item.  Click on this to see a list of open build windows.
