Saving works essentially the same as exporting except that instead of sending the information to the Clipboard, the information is stored in a disk file. Text windows have their output saved as text, graphics files save their output as placeable Metafiles under windows, and PICT files on the Macintosh. A large number of applications can read these file types. Saving tool output in this manner can be convenient when you are documenting your work. When you click on this button you will be prompted for the name of a file to store your results to.
Vensim supports some transfers of graphic information (from tool output) to plain text format. When you click on the Save button, you can choose an optional file type of Graphics Transfer (.gtx). This is an ASCII file containing the graph information.
