SPECIAL>EXIT1 is the same as MENU>EXIT except if you have started a Venapp from the command line. When you start a Venapp from the command line MENU>EXIT closes Vensim, while SPECIAL>EXIT1 closes the Venapp, and opens the Vensim Workbench. The demo disk uses this to give access to the Vensim development environment.
