Compiled simulations are available on both Windows and the Macintosh, but the supporting files are not transferable. That is, if you move a model from one platform to another you will need to recompile.
Many of the details in this chapter around compilation are Windows specific. On the Mac, if the gcc compiler is installed you should be good to go. It if it is not, you will need to install it. Also, on the Macintosh the files created will have extension .dylib rather than .dll.
