As you enter and modify equations with the Equation Editor, they are incrementally added to the model and classified as to type when possible. Still, determining the type of a variable cannot always be done ahead of time and can be difficult when there are syntax errors and incomplete equations. If you have trouble finding a variable for input using the Variable Type selector, you might need to try the type All. If you want to get the equation for a variable, pattern matching is likely to be the most effective way of finding the variable.
Because many variables types are determined by what appears on the right hand side after the equals sign = it is possible to write an Auxiliary equation and have it open as a level. This would happen, for example, if you entered a DELAY FIXED function into an Auxiliary equation. In fact, this can be a convenient way to get prompts for the meaning of the different function arguments.
