5.10d Changes

The GET DIRECT... functions, as well as the GET XLS...functions on the Mac (or with the direct connect option selected) will now work with xlsx files. Data importing will also work with xlsx files.

DSS Only: The compilation and external function version codes have changed (see next note).

DSS Only: For the double precision version of Vensim Data variables are now kept in double precision. Constants and Data brought in through external sources via  GET XLS..., GET DIRECT... or ODBC will have this precision preserved. Note that Data read in from vdf files, and Constants from model equations, are still single precision numbers.

DSS Only. Two new commands TIMEAXIS>ASDATE and TIMEAXIS>DATEDISPLAY have been added to better control graph and table appearance.

Using the ?value=label format for displaying variable values in custom reports, graphs and other output now allows special characters (such as %) to be part of the label.

Setting the environmental variable VENSIMERROR to a specific directory will cause the error file created by Vensim to be put in that directory. This can be most useful when working with the Vensim DLL or shared object library. On Linux the VENSIMHOME environmental variable can also be used to specify the location of the resource (.vrf) file. Directory names should be complete and not have a terminating / or \.

Bug Fixes

Pro/DSS Only: Models use nested macro definitions could cause failure on units or model check the second time it was performed or if stored in .vmf format.

Pro/DSS Only: The document tool would not display selected variables when Causes or Uses options were used.

Mac Only: Using the Return Key in the equation editor would sometimes cause Vensim to close.

Mac Only: Some of the bottom menus, notably view selection, were not working.

Mac Only: Not used messages were not displaying correctly in the Equation Editor.

Mac Only: When setting constants on a view, and sometimes editing variable names, the edit box would not disappear after completion.

Mac Only: Printing was not properly scaling tools or consistently rendering sketch output.

DSS Only: LISTVAR controls referring to an incorrect variable type would give a message "Empty Listvar" instead of displaying a disabled control.

Pro/DSS Only: Model using GET XLS SUBSCRIPTS or GET DIRECT SUBSCRIPTS with a wildcard filename would query the filename when opened even after it had already been set.

Pro/DSS Only: When importing data subscripts requiring quotation marks were not consistently being given this which could results in a Repeated in Onesort error.

Sensitivity simulations using a VECTOR search over a negative range were stopping before the maximum of the range.

DSS Only: Command scripts embedded as active comments in Sketches could cause Vensim to stop responding to Menu commands.

Should reference mode data get out of sync with model variables, primarily as a result of subscript changes, you will be queried and given the opportunity to remove or reassign the offending reference modes.

DSS Only: LISTVARS in Venapps with a range set were not reading typed in values.
