Vensim 10.5 Released

Vensim 10.5 is here, with many upgrades:
- Web publishing with templates that are simple to use. These web apps run in your browser at SyntheSim speed, and they now support exogenous data. You keep control of your own work, so you can host it wherever suits you: your own web host, your intranet, or your desktop.
- Big improvements to optimization and MCMC performance and output.
- A redesigned Causal Tracing®. Click here for more information
- A rebuilt Document tool. Click here for more information.
- Sample models explorer. Click tools->Sample models, you can now browse all of the sample models and open them in an easy to use explorer.
- Toolset editing. You can now edit the analysis tools in Vensim PLE+ the same way you do in Vensim Professional/DSS.
- Diagram only mode. Vensim PLE+ can now run in diagram only mode. Many users work in Vensim purely for diagramming, and this mode hides all the simulation tools. To switch it on, go to View > Diagram only mode.
- Faster setup for Bayesian Inference

What’s on the way? For Vensim:
- Agentic Vensim
- For DSS, we’ve built an MCP server that lives on your desktop and can edit and run your models. It can raise quality using SD best practices, test with Reality Check® and SyntheSim® overrides, organize your project, preprocess your data, and manage your output. It even knows how to handle complex tasks like Bayesian calibration with synthetic data. Use it with our framework and your favorite coding agent, or inside an IDE such as VS Code or Kiro. Email vensim@vensim.com if you’d like to be a beta tester.
- For all versions, a built-in agent that can critique your model, suggest improvements, help with unit and floating point errors, and help you make sense of your results.
- Structural Intelligence
- Analysis of feedback structure that links behavior to endogenous dynamics
- Additionally, assess sensitivity to parameters and driving data
- Visualization of the state transition matrix, so you can see how stocks drive change
- Fast Kalman filtering, with a linear algebra engine that’s one or two orders of magnitude faster.
The next Ventity release has exciting developments as well.
- Web publishing, using the same templates, and almost entirely the same code, as the Vensim version.
- Agentic Ventity has its own MCP server. We think this may be a game-changer, because the agent can help you exploit the entity architecture:
- Redesign sectors to take advantage of dynamic modification of structure and solve sparse matrix problems.
- Organize entities naturally around relational data.
- Adapt or translate existing models, sometimes simply by swapping in new data.
