The Pointer tool class has two members, the Lock tool and the Move/Size tool. The Move/Size tool allows you to move, size and shape words and arrows as described later in this chapter. The Lock tool prevents mouse based movement of sketch elements but still allows selection and menu based modification of the sketch. It is designed to prevent accidental movement of words and arrows.
For both tools double-clicking on a word selects the corresponding variable into the Workbench. For Navigation Comments, double-clicking with the Move/Size tool selected will move to the indicated view whereas with the Lock tool selected only a single click is required.
You can use the Pointer to select one or more words or arrows. To select a single word click on it without moving the mouse. To select a group of words press the mouse button (not on any words or arrows) and drag the mouse over the group. A rubber band will appear, let go of the mouse button when you have selected the words you want. Once you have selected one or more words Shift-clicking on words and arrows will toggle them in and out of the selection.
With the Move/Size tool you can drag selected groups of words as a single group. Just press the mouse button inside the selection box (rubber band) and move the mouse. Words and arrows will all be moved together.
When the Move/Size tool is selected there will be visible sizing handles on words and positioning handles on arrows. When the Lock tool is selected these will not be visible.
Pointer Options
The Pointer Options let you choose between the Lock tool and the Move/Size tool. The default sketch toolset has one of each and this is all that are likely to be called for.
