It is possible to use wildcards to represent the names of files in GET XLS.. and GET DIRECT... function calls. To do this you simply use a phrase beginning with a ? in place of the file name. For example '?Data Sources'. When Vensim tries to open this file the first time, it will put up a file selection dialog with the phrase appearing at the top of the dialog. Thereafter, that file will be substituted whenever the matching phrase is found. You can have as many phrases as you want, and each can be repeated as many times as desired.
If you want to change, or remove, the mapping between the phrase and the corresponding files use the XLS files tab of the Model Settings dilaog:
Note that these do not need to be .xls files, other file extensions may also be used as is appropriate.
Type the phrase in the edit box right of "For the reference" then use the Choose button to select the corresponding file. Then use Add Editing to put it in the list. To modify an existing reference click on it in the list, then click on Modify Selected. You can remove an item from the list by clicking on it and then Delete Selected.
