For the most part, the use of these menu items is specified in the chapters on the Sketch and Text Editors. The View and Layout menu items are grayed when any other windows are active.
When are working with a tool output window the Edit menu contains one active item, Copy. This command allows you to copy the contents of the tool output to the clipboard. See Working with Tool Output.
