Backup file path (no drive) allows you to set a path for the storage of old versions of a file when a new version is written. If this is left blank the old version will be named with a 2 preceding the extension. For example test.vmf would have test.2vmf as its old version name. The path is used by the Text Editor and Sketch Editor to name the backup file. Molecule Library Path, names the path where molecules are installed. Information on molecules is available from http://www.vensim.com/molecules.html. Template Model lets you specify the name of the model Vensim should start with when you ask for a new model. You should enter the full path name of the model you want to use. The model must appear as a text file. This is convenient for setting up commonly used macros or other information you want to be common across your models. If you choose this option you will not be queried to fill in model settings. External function library‡ names the Dynamic Link Library containing external functions for use with Vensim. External functions are available with Vensim DSS only. Compiled simulation path‡ tells Vensim where to find the files necessary to run a compiled simulation. Compiled simulations are available with Vensim DSS.
