The Venapp Editor behaves much like the sketch editor. You move things around by dragging them, you size things by dragging the handle in the lower right hand corner and you delete things with the Delete subtool, or highlighting them and pressing the Del key. Just as with a model, some of the information relating to a Venapp is not visible. The Venapp Editor places comments and non visual controls in the upper left hand corner of the sketch and marks them as hidden. You can see these by using the View>Hidden Elements command, but there is little reason to do so. Editing of control order and nonvisual controls should be done using the Screen Definition dialog described below.
The Venapp Editor mimics the layout of the running Venapp. Unlike the running Venapp all of the visible controls have a box around them that can be used to manage resizing. Also, the exact appearance of the controls is likely to differ somewhat from the running Venapp. For example, a SHOWVAR control will always display 1.234 not a value corresponding the variable it is representing, a TOOL or WIPTOOL control will display the command used to invoke the tool and a SKETCH control will display the word "Sketch."
The screens in a Venapp are treated analogously with the views of a model. You can navigate through the different screens using the Page Up and Page down keys and also the bottom status bar. To create a new screen select *New* from the bottom or use the View>New command. You can reorder the screens using the View>Reorder command. When a Venapp is started it will start on the first screen in the list of screens.
When you have the Venapp Editor open there will be a command on the File Menu to Run Venapp which will allow you to run the Venapp to check its operation. A shortcut for this menu item appears along the bottom statusbar. You can also test the screen you are currently working on by clicking on the Test Screen button that appears along the bottom status bar.
